About

Hi, I'm Jolie! I am a biochemist-turned-designer who unravels multi-layered problems to create clear, delightful experiences. I enjoy working closely with technical teams to build comprehensive, delightful digital products.
With my background in biochemistry and medicine, I combine my desire to help others, knack for understanding complex systems, and aptitude for communicating difficult concepts (i.e. sketching molecules) into a design career. With my music background, I exercise thoughtfulness in my decisions while welcoming collaboration and improvisation to form a point of view.
Besides designing digital products, I am also pursuing my Master's in Information Experience Design at Pratt Institute.
In my spare time, you can find me exploring coffee shops, sketching at museums, or playing the electric bass with my jazz band.

My Values
Be curious…
Whether it's a new AI tool, a fresh angle to a systems problem, or collaborating with technical or business teams, I approach everything as an opportunity to learn and broaden my skill set.
…but be decisive
Unlike science, where there is often only one right answer, design problems usually have many right answers. Applying sound judgement to a design decision, even without complete information, makes products that are intentional and self-assured.
and most importantly, be kind
I hope to treat everyone that I encounter with kindness and respect. I also have many people to thank, from my research mentors to my creative friends, for shaping me as the designer that I am today.
